Biography
Nichols Crawford Taylor is a doctoral student in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, based in Boston. He is advised by Rob Platt.
Crawford Taylor is passionate about finding ways to get robots to competently manipulate and interact with the world around them. He is pursuing a PhD in robotics and AI because he is fascinated by the challenging and interesting problems of robotic manipulation. He’s particularly curious to discover how algorithms and reinforcement learning can make robots more competent and dexterous.
Before joining Khoury College in 2024, Crawford Taylor contributed to robotic manipulation work as an undergraduate researcher at the University of Utah. He has published his work in TRO and HSMR.
In his free time, Crawford Taylor likes to rock climb and design 3D-printed robot arms.
