Meet our community

Meet Nadim Saad, an assistant professor whose experience as a grad student “not so long ago” helps him focus on leveling the playing field for his students: “I do relate quite a lot to how they’re feeling joining a new program. We’re all learning, wherever we’re starting from, whether (or not) we have any background…that’s amazing. As long as we’re learning.”
Teaching professor Jeongkyu Lee joined Khoury College after 20 years as a teacher and academic researcher, driven by a desire to connect more closely with students. Now, he’s found his true calling in creating meaningful hands-on research opportunities for students, believing that such work provides invaluable preparation for students’ future careers.
Ilmi Yoon, Director of Computing Programs for Khoury College’s Silicon Valley campus, shares how she helps students build confidence — insight based largely on overcoming her own struggles as a CS student: “Computing can be challenging … it takes some time, but once you figure it out it becomes so exciting and you can do some amazing things.”
