Biography

Sarita Singh is an associate teaching professor in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, based in Seattle.

Singh's research focuses on the design and development of intelligent, secure, and user-centered technologies that address challenges in health care, education, and connected systems. A key area of her work is the design of IoT-based solutions for monitoring and supporting Parkinson’s patients, including systems for tremor assessment, mobility tracking, and rehabilitation. She also investigates the integration of AI and machine learning into IoT environments, with an emphasis on responsible AI and cybersecurity.

In addition to her technical research, Singh is passionate about computing and educational technology. She investigates innovative teaching approaches, the use of AI-powered learning tools, and strategies for enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes in computer science and software engineering education.

Through her interdisciplinary research and teaching, Singh seeks to advance technologies that are not only innovative and intelligent, but also secure, accessible, and beneficial to society.

Before joining Northeastern, Singh accumulated more than 25 years of teaching, industry, and research experience with organizations and universities in Singapore, Malaysia, and India. She has also taught undergraduate and graduate courses for UK and Australian degree programs.
