I completed my BA in English and my BS in English Education from Boston University. I worked in the Boston University English department as the undergraduate coordinator, working closely with undergraduate majors and minors as well as department faculty concerning academic scheduling, registration, and graduation matters. During this time, I completed my EdM in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Boston University.
As an academic advisor, I advise students throughout their academic career at Northeastern. From orientation to graduation, I advise them on their course planning and scheduling and provide useful resources so they can make educated decisions that support their individual goals. As an instructor for CS 1200, I work closely with first-year students to help them develop leadership skills and to learn more about the resources available to them at Northeastern. I enjoy learning about students’ interests and seeing how they plan to explore those interests through their academic coursework, extracurricular activities, and co-op experiences.
Computer science is invaluable to all fields. I am amazed by the number of combined majors that have been created so students can explore their CS interests in relation to other academic interests. It is exciting to see students connecting their CS skills to non-traditional CS fields.
