Biography
Alana Mackey is a research assistant in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, based in Boston.
Mackey joined Khoury College as part of a lab overseen by assistant professor Ada Lerner. She is currently pursuing her bachelor's degree in computer science from Wellesley College, where she is the lead researcher on a project focused on making computer science classrooms more inclusive for Black and brown students. Also at Wellesley, Mackey has worked as a student liaison to the dean of admissions and financial aid, creating programs and policies to retain Black and Indigenous students at the college.
Outside of academia, Mackey enjoys running, sewing, baking, and reading memoirs.
