Biography

Aida Sharif Rohani is a part-time lecturer in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, based in Silicon Valley.

Sharif Rohani teaches object-oriented programming. As a Khoury College graduate, she finds it incredibly meaningful to provide the kind of learning experience that resonated so deeply with her as a student. She loves watching as learning transforms her students — building their problem-solving skills, boosting their confidence, and preparing them to become thoughtful engineers and researchers.

When she’s not teaching, Sharif Rohani is a research scientist with NASA Ames, which she joined full time after earning her master’s from Khoury College in 2021. There, she applies AI, machine learning, and natural language processing to enhance efficiency and safety in aviation. She has published a number of works on machine learning, AI, bias, and aviation.

In her free time, Sharif Rohani loves to run races and rescue roly-poly bugs from her vegetable garden.
