Northeastern 2026 Commencement and Khoury Celebrations
Sunday, April 26, marked Khoury College’s commencement celebrations, with both the undergraduate and graduate ceremonies taking place for the first time at Leader Bank Pavilion in Boston’s Seaport District.
As in previous years, each student crossed the stage as their name was announced. These college celebrations complemented the university-wide commencement ceremony at Fenway Park on Wednesday, April 29, where President Aoun conferred degrees in a grand ceremony that featured featured singer and actor Hilary Duff as the undergraduate speaker, and Alan McKim, founder of the environmental cleanup company Clean Harbors, as the graduate speaker.

These students are among the almost 600 undergraduates who crossed the stage at the Boston ceremony, held this year at Leader Bank Pavilion for the first time.

Miami Commencement: May 2
May 2, 2026, marked a true milestone as the first cohort of Khoury students at Northeastern Miami graduated. They include Qingyuan Wan (center, holding the Husky), Fengkai Liu, Erdun E, and Naveen Kumanan. Joining them are Khoury faculty Alan Jamieson, Jia Zhu, and Gabriela Gongora-Swartzman, director of computing programs.

The event took place at the George Washington Masonic National Memorial Hall in Alexandria, which dates back to 1910.
New graduate Xiaotong Li had a special friend with her as she received her degree.

Vancouver Convocation: May 14

Among the faculty in the Convocation procession were Bethany Edmunds, associate dean of computing programs – West Coast.
New Khoury graduate Kalhar Pandya was recognized for his Outstanding Global Network Student Award, given to students Northeastern’s network campuses who demonstrate excellence in academics, research, leadership, teaching, or impact.

Silicon Valley student speaker Aisha Abdur Rahim, also winner of the 2026 Silicon Valley Outstanding Network Student Award, shared her memories of friendship and camaraderie: “We’re leaving with each other’s fingerprints all over our success, with memories touched by the hands and hearts of the people in this room," she said.
It's a wrap! The release of multi-colored, biodegradable confetti has become a tradition that Northeastern has adopted from Mills College, dating back over a decade.
