Applying computer science to community projects: free Northeastern University Oakland summer program for high school juniors and seniors
Coding for Our Community at Northeastern University Oakland will provide rising 11th and 12th graders the opportunity to use computer science to tackle real issues in their communities. Students bring their own passion — whether animal welfare, local government, education, or small business support — and learn to build technical solutions around it, no prior coding experience required. Participants in this free program will also receive a letter of recommendation from program instructor and Assistant Teaching Professor Rasika Bhalerao to be sent to Northeastern University, two other universities of the student’s choice, and an unlimited number of university scholarship applications.
The program runs June 22—July 16, Monday through Thursday, from 9:30 a.m.—2 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
