Co-op professional development webinar: Making a positive impression with an employer

You only have seconds to make a positive first impression — what you say, do, and act like in your first employer interaction will contribute to whether you get hired or declined. In this workshop we will discuss how to use non-verbal communication and a well-crafted self-introduction to make a positive impact. Associate Teaching Professor Wendy Truran, who teaches technical and professional communications, will offer some simple strategies to help you craft an elevator pitch that describes your projects to their best advantage. We’ll also practice delivering your introductions with the energy necessary to create a positive first impression.
