Computer Systems and Security Group

A place for students who are passionate about operating systems, distributed systems, computer networks, and security

The Computer Systems and Security Group aims to bring together students who are passionate about operating systems, distributed systems, computer networks, and security.

Our mission is to create a collaborative community where members can learn from one another, explore cutting-edge systems topics, build and support meaningful student-led projects, and offer consistent programming that benefits the broader student body.

Our group fills a growing need in Vancouver for a dedicated space focused on low-level computing, operating systems, distributed systems, computer networks, and security.

By creating a community around these core areas, we aim to complement the curriculum, foster peer learning, and connect students with faculty and industry professionals.

We welcome all levels of experience — from curious beginners to seasoned low-level hackers — and are excited to grow a supportive space for technical exploration, discussion, and innovation.
