- BSBA, Northeastern University
What are the specifics of your educational/career background?
I earned my BS in Business Administration at Northeastern University with a concentration in marketing and management. Subsequently, I gained graduate certificates in Advanced Management and Distance Learning, both from Northeastern. Most recently, I received a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern.
I was initially hired into an administrative position at the College of Computer and Information Science before moving into a human resources and financial role. More recently, I joined the marketing team within the college.
What are the key aspects of your role at Northeastern? What do you enjoy most about what you do?
My role has many moving parts, so I am always working on various projects to make sure the voice of the college is heard, and to ensure that everyone is aware of the great things we are doing. We are able to do this through various marketing projects as well as college events. While the college has expanded significantly over this time, it continues to hold onto its roots and maintains the small business atmosphere and a personal and individualized environment. I truly enjoy telling others about our story.
What’s the most compelling thing to you about the work that goes on at Khoury?
Since starting at Khoury, I have seen that computer science is integral to everything we do and has a vast role in all industries. I enjoy reading and hearing about the research that has a relation to non-computer scientists, such as Uber surge pricing, algorithms as personal stylists, and data leaks from cell phones.
Where did you grow up or spend your most defining years?
I grew up in Weymouth, MA.
What led you to work in your field and/or study at your college?
When it was time for me to attend college, I decided on Northeastern. With both parents working here, I grew up on the campus and knew it was where I wanted to go. Being able to live in the city and enjoy all Boston has to offer was the perfect choice for me. I also knew about the co-op program and felt that it would be able to give me the extra work experience that I would need after graduation.
