What are the brief specifics of your educational/career background?

After earning my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education from Purdue University, I worked as a middle school and high school math teacher in Indiana. I then began a Master of Science in Education in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Indiana University. During my graduate program, I worked at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis in the Office of Campus Career and Advising Services.

What are the key aspects of your role at Northeastern? What do you enjoy most/find most interesting about what you do?

The most important part of my role as an academic advisor with CCIS is to support and guide students academically, professionally, and personally. I work to understand students’ academic and career goals and help to connect them to resources and opportunities to achieve those goals.
The most interesting part of my job is seeing the variety of interests our students have and the passion and excitement towards achieving their goals.

What’s the most compelling thing to you about the research/work that goes on at the College?

As we all know, technology has changed our world and the way we live. And Northeastern is changing the way we educate. To me, the College of Computer and Information Science is the epicenter of those two innovations and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of it.
