What are the specifics of your educational/career background?
I received my Bachelor of Science in Business from Northeastern University. After graduation, I took a job with my co-op employer, TECnet. The small non-profit at Tufts University worked with the Department of Commerce’s NIST Manufacturing Extension Partnership to facilitate sharing of best practices and networking between centers across the country. We developed web-based technologies to enable centers to collaborate online.
When I became the Director of TECnet, I handled all aspects of running a non-profit, from grant writing and financial management to marketing and project management. TECnet generated over $1 million in revenue. My team and I delivered training on the use of the Internet as a collaboration tool, developed online learning tools, and designed and developed websites.
At Tufts I also worked with the Center for Engineering Outreach on distance learning initiatives and managed managed the Tufts’ Department of Computer Science.
What are the key aspects of your role at Northeastern? What do you enjoy most about what you do?
As the director of Marketing and Digital Strategy at Khoury, I manage all marketing, events and communications for the College. From websites to collateral materials, social media to news, my team handles all things Khoury! I love the range of things I get to work on and the amazing people here at Khoury.
What’s the most compelling thing to you about the work that goes on at Khoury?
I’m passionate about our mission to involve more people in computer science, particularly those that never felt invited to participate in computer science previously.
Where did you grow up or spend your most defining years?
I grew up in Central New York before moving to Rhode Island, where I attended high school.
What led you to work in your field and/or study at your college?
When I enrolled at Northeastern University, I studied physical therapy, but quickly found my passion in the College of Business. I have always loved living in Boston and take great pride in working for my alma mater.
