Tenure-Track Hiring in Khoury College
The Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University invites applications for multiple tenure-track/tenured faculty positions at all levels, beginning academic year 2024-25 or 2025-26. The tenure home for this position will reside in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences, with potential joint appointment in another Northeastern College, to be determined in consultation with the successful candidate.
Candidates will be considered across all areas of computer science. We are especially seeking candidates working in one or more of the following themes, which form the computing-focused priorities of faculty hiring across Northeastern.
Resilient and Trustworthy Systems: areas of interest include systems, distributed computing, databases, security and privacy, cryptography, networking, quantum computing, and trustworthy AI
Next-Generation Software: areas of interest include programming languages, software engineering, software for next-generation hardware, and reliability and robustness of software
Robotics and Foundations of AI: areas of interest include robotics, machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, theory, and intelligent decision making
Human Centered AI and Embodied Intelligence: areas of interest include sensing and extended reality, HCI, human-in-the-loop AI, and ML for robotics and other embodied applications
AI for Personal, Public, and Population Health: areas of interest include computing, sensing, and AI solutions for healthcare, including longitudinal monitoring, supporting behavior change, and addressing chronic conditions across populations and cultures
Computer Science and Law: areas of interest include data governance and privacy, legal requirements and cryptography, regulations and new technologies (e.g., generative AI)
Digital Civics: areas of interest include human-centered computing, computer-supported collaboration, ubiquitous computing, visual analytics, smart cities, information ethics, public good technologies, and responsible computing

Faculty members at Northeastern are expected to develop independent research programs that attract external funding; teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate level; supervise students and postdocs in their area of research; and participate in service to the department, university, and discipline. Candidates interested in conducting high-impact research programs and committed to teaching excellence are encouraged to apply. Senior candidates must have a distinguished track record in research and an established history of grant support or industry research, with the potential for strong leadership in their research field.
