Fulbrights are awarded to exceptional students to research, study, or teach English abroad, in order to foster diplomacy and mutual understanding between the U.S. and other countries.
The Critical Language Scholarship is a program of the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The scholarship provides opportunities for undergraduates to pursue intensive overseas summer study in the critical need foreign languages.
The Graduate Education for Minorities (GEM) PhD Engineering Fellowship offers master of science and PhD level students an outstanding opportunity and access to dozens of the top engineering and science firms and universities in the nation. The fellowship was designed to focus on promoting opportunities for individuals to enter industry at the graduate level in areas such as research and development, product development, and other high level technical careers.
This national award—the most prestigious undergraduate science scholarship in the country—is granted annually to top sophomores and juniors studying math, science, or engineering. Goldwater Scholars must demonstrate outstanding potential for and interest in pursuing a career in research.

Mitchell’s contribution to the Northern Ireland peace process, this scholarship aims to introduce and connect future American leaders to the island of Ireland, while recognizing and fostering intellectual achievement, leadership, and a commitment to community and public service.
The Hodgkinson Award recognizes top students on the basis of academic and experiential performance, and selections are made by a faculty committee.
Sears B. Condit was a member of Northeastern University’s Corporation from 1936–51 who established an endowed fund to provide scholarships for outstanding scholastic achievement.
