Mehraneh Liaee is a PhD student in the Computer Science program at Northeastern University’s Khoury College of Computer Sciences, advised by Professor Rajmohan Rajaraman. Mehraneh’s research is focused on randomized algorithms, probabilistic techniques, approximation algorithms, and designing and analyzing algorithms. Before coming to Northeastern, Mehraneh earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from Sharif University of Technology in Iran.
What are your research interests?
I am interested in Network algorithms, Distributed Algorithms, Approximation Algorithms, and Designing and Analyzing Algorithms in general.
What’s one problem you’d like to solve with your research/work?
Currently, I’m working on information spreading over dynamic networks, where the network is changing by an adversary by adding or removing edges. The goal is to find an efficient distributed algorithm (token-forwarding) that finish this task in a hopefully sub-quadratic time.
What are your research or career goals, going forward?
I want to develop my research and problem solving skills, so that i can give solution to real world problems arises in industry.
