  • MEd in higher education, Merrimack College
  • BA, University of Rhode Island

What are the specifics of your educational/career background?

I received my BA from the University of Rhode Island and my MEd in Higher Education from Merrimack College. Prior to Northeastern University, I worked in elementary education, as well as at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI and career services and employer relations at Merrimack College.

What are the key aspects of your role at Northeastern? What do you enjoy most about what you do?

My current role is comprised of three main categories: teaching, advising, and employer relations. I teach co-op preparation seminars to prepare students for the co-op search and experience, work with students one on one during their search, and act as a resource throughout the co-op process. Furthermore, I work with employers to provide quality co-op opportunities for students and support/coordinate employer events. I love being able to help students find internship and co-op opportunities to grow and develop the skills that will make them valuable members of the industry.

What’s the most compelling thing to you about the work that goes on at CCIS?

The work at Khoury College is exceptional. To be surrounded by faculty and staff committed to furthering research and development in the ever growing field of computer science is amazing. Furthermore, the commitment shown to developing invaluable experiences and providing support for Khoury College students is both inspiring and motivating.

What led you to work in your field and/or study at your college?

As a professional, I have always been driven by the belief that all students can thrive when provided with the proper tools, support, and environment to succeed. My work in higher education stems from this belief. Helping students grow as professionals and find employment opportunities that support their interests and desires is invaluable. Furthermore, I love aiding employers in finding student candidates and creating quality connections with the college.
