Tech@Crossroads
Description:
At Tech@Crossroads, our mission is to foster a community of innovation and learning at the intersections of technology and other diverse academic disciplines. We aim to support and guide Aligners transitioning from non-tech backgrounds into the field of computer science by offering resources, mentorship, and a platform for interdisciplinary dialogue. But our club is not limited to Aligners; anyone in Khoury who is interested in exploring the intersections of tech combined with other fields is welcome to join.
Our purpose is to:
1. Bridge the Gap: Provide a supportive and warm environment where Aligners can acquire the knowledge and confidence to excel in their computer science endeavors.
2. Peer-to-Peer Learning: Offer access to course suggestions and academic tips from senior students while ensuring academic integrity.
3. Encourage Collaboration: Promote interdisciplinary discussions that combine technology with fields such as law, healthcare, arts, and business to spark innovation and new perspectives.
4. Foster Inclusive Community Building: Creating an inclusive environment that welcomes and nurtures individuals from diverse backgrounds, fostering a culture of learning and curiosity about computer science and its broad applications.
5. Lead Interdisciplinary Events: Organize workshops, seminars, and events that prepare students for the challenges and opportunities in the tech industry while highlighting their past experiences from other industries.
6. App Development for Campus Engagement: Design and develop a user-friendly application on all platforms (web, app, etc.) tailored to streamline and enhance the sharing of campus news, events, and resources.
Through these initiatives, we strive to empower every member of our club to make a meaningful impact in the tech world while leveraging their unique backgrounds and fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
