Technology details

We will use bring-your-own-device, according to the default NENA specs. The device needs to be able to boot from a USB thumbdrive containing Linux, which will be provided. Note that Macbooks generally do not work. We recommend that you test your device with the contest Linux image (see instructions, username: team, password: contest) before the competition to make sure that it works on your device. A common issue is with the wifi driver.

Networking setup: please bring a secondary device e.g. a smart phone that can access your email. You will connect to the wifi network NUwave-guest. In a browser, you can register for a temporary account using your name, phone number, and an email address.

Registration starts at 9:00 and please arrive by 9:30 at the latest to allow enough time for signing in and booting your machine. From the past experience, some teams arrived late, had trouble with booting their machines, and lost some time in the contest.
