- PhD, Electrical Engineering – Virginia Tech
Tsung-Heng Tsai is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the College of Computer and Information Science at Northeastern University. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2014. After that, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. He joined the lab of Dr. Olga Vitek in 2015, where he develops statistical and computational methods for quantitative mass spectrometry-based proteomics.

What are the specific areas of your graduate education?
My background is in electrical engineering and statistics. I received my PhD in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2014 with my research focusing on developing signal processing and machine learning methods for biomarker discovery.
What are your research interests?
I am interested in problems of computational biology. I work primarily with data from mass spectrometry, a key technology for proteomics, where I develop statistical methods and tools to process and explore data, to derive insights, and to answer associated scientific questions.
