What are the specifics of your educational/career background?

I joined Northeastern University’s CCIS in 2014 as a lecturer, programmer, and post-doc. I earned my PhD from Northeastern, my MS from Harvard University, and my BSE from Princeton University.

What are the key aspects of your role at Northeastern? What do you enjoy most about what you do?

I split time between teaching, programming language research, and contributing to the Racket language. I enjoy the freedom to think of, execute, and deploy new ideas that can have immediate impact in all these areas.

What’s the most compelling thing to you about the work that goes on at the college?

I am impressed that CCIS is continually able to produce research that is simultaneously high-impact in the academic world and of high practical value for daily real-world users.
