  • BS in Sociology, Roanoke College

What are the specifics of your educational/career background?

I have a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia, and am almost completed with my master’s degree in education counseling from Providence College. I previously worked as a Graduate Assistant at Providence College, where I really enjoyed working with undergraduate student workers at the IT Help Desk on campus.

What are the key aspects of your role at Northeastern? What do you enjoy most about what you do?

I will be coordinating the Computer Science and Its Applications course (CS1100). The most interesting part of my job is being able to interact with a group of students with diverse majors across campus.

What’s the most compelling thing to you about the work that goes on at CCIS?

I think that the interdisciplinary initiatives of CCIS and its relationships with other colleges and majors is really interesting and creates a diverse student population within the college.

Where did you grow up or spend your most defining years?

I grew up in Barrington, Rhode Island, and moved to Massachusetts after I graduated from college.

What led you to work in your field and/or study at your college?

I decided to attend college in Southwest Virginia, an area very different from where I grew up, in order to explore a different part of the country without being too far away from home. I moved back to the Northeast because I knew I wanted to work in higher education, and Massachusetts is a great place to live and work in that field.
