What are the brief specifics of your educational and professional background?
I received a BA in Psychology from the University at Albany, State University of New York. After a year of traveling, I continued my education and earned a MS in College Student Service Administration from the College of Saint Rose. Prior to being an academic advisor at Khoury College, I worked as a residence hall director at the University at Albany.
What are the key aspects of your role at Northeastern? What do you enjoy most about what you do?
My role as an academic advisor is to assist students in planning their undergraduate career from orientation to graduation. Using my knowledge about the various resources and opportunities on campus, my goal is to help each individual grow from being a student into a young professional. A large part of this role is to support my students in a holistic manner and focus on individual achievements and success in an academic setting.
What I enjoy most is getting to know each student and help them create, find, or plan for their future accomplishments. Hearing students speak about their passions and ideas for their future is inspiring. My favorite part is seeing them grow each year and discover new and creative ways to succeed.
What’s the most compelling thing to you about the work that goes on at Khoury?
What I find most interesting about working with Khoury is knowing our students are learning about how computers and technology work in order to give them a foundation to be able to create the next generation of technology. The idea that these students will be discovering, designing, and advancing new technology is wondrous.
