What are the specifics of your graduate education (thus far)?
I am currently in my first year of Northeastern’s PhD program, having entered Northeastern after finishing my undergraduate studies in Turkey. I have been taking courses in topics that include: Software Vulnerabilities, Network Security, and Cyberlaw, while spending the rest of my time on my research.
What are your research interests?
I am interested in a variety of different security topics such as systems security, mobile security, and web security. I felt closer to a researcher’s path from the start, but what solidified this feeling for me was my internship experience at Northeastern University.
What’s one problem you’d like to solve with your research/work?
I would like to help the quick implementation of security solutions in different platforms, without the large gap we have now.
What aspect of what you do is most interesting?
The most interesting aspect about security research is that things are never static and there will always be someone racing with you to find more vulnerabilities as you try to outrun them.
What are your research or career goals, going forward?
I would like to finish up my education with a great knowledge in different security topics and having made some contributions myself.
