What are the brief specifics of your educational/career background?
I’ve worked for several universities advising and teaching students on career development and academics. Before coming to Northeastern, I worked in the Boston College Career Center and at Purdue University. With the goal of guiding students through their time in college and coaching them on developing professionally, I completed my MS in higher education after earning my BA in psychology.
What are the key aspects of your role at Northeastern? What do you enjoy most/find most interesting about what you do?
I coach students on connecting their skills, interests, values, academics, and goals to their next step. I am an educator and thought partner as students apply and interview for co-ops, strive to make the most of their co-op, and then bring their experience back to the classroom. I work with employers to identify their needs and develop co-op opportunities for students. I also manage and develop projects, resources, and events. Being on a university campus, surrounded by a community of people dedicated to growth, is such a positive place to be! I enjoy supporting and learning from students as they face challenges and thrive.
What’s the most compelling thing to you about the research/work that goes on at the College?
The research of Khoury College faculty and the work students accomplish in class and on co-op spans subjects and industries that impact us all every day. It’s exciting to be part of a college and field constantly undergoing rapid change and growth. Khoury College has a great team of staff and faculty dedicated to finding creative and new ways to encourage students to pursue their professional goals.
