Khoury Sparks showcases cutting-edge research\, applied projects\, and teaching innovations — highlighting how graduate study at Khoury College is exciting\, attainable\, and deeply connected to the needs of today’s tech industry. \n\n\n\nIn Building an Android Chess App – From Class Project to Interactive Game\, presenter Justin Pak will discuss how as part of a hands-on mobile development course\, he created a fully functional Android chess app that brings the classic game to life on a phone. Players can compete against a friend or challenge the computer using a custom-built engine. To make the app even more engaging\, he integrated Stockfish\, a powerful chess tool\, so users can review their games and see how to improve.
